History:
A picturesque stop in 2019, this wooded trail bore witness to the horrors of the Civil War, which reached its peak in the Fredericksburg region between 1863 and 1864. This trail played a pivotal role in the Battle of Chancellorsville in 1863, and again later, in 1864, as the battle shifted from The Wilderness to the Bloody Angle at Spotsylvania Courthouse.
